Originally by: Opertone HYDRA collapsed, they were the only 2000+ players carebear alliance with passion to mining crokite all day long
morphite has gone up for the same reason, carebears that were mining it took a serious beating
why HYDRA? because it has 4 Jumps from Jita to 0.0 and a vast network of jumpbriges which allowed fast travels and hi volumes of trade
normally the minerals would be delivered by blockade runners, industrials and Freighters
SMASHKILL+allies/pets (5000+ players, with only a handful of jumps from highsec right the way to the middle of the drone regions) gone, replaced with entities that already had drone region access. IRON losing Malpais and busy fighting on two fronts. HYDRA not getting time for mining. KA-TET and pets again losing a region to people that already had drone regions access.
You're looking at over 10,000 players no longer inhabiting Zydrine rich areas.

Here's another option from the patch notes:
'The Phased Plasma M BPO now no longer requires Zydrine in order to manufacture, however, more Pyerite, Mexallon and Isogen are required to balance the cost. '
So it's possible someone looked on the test server and started madly building Phased Plasma M because they figured the value of the other minerals that were added when refined was worth more.

No one killing drones means no one jumping plush + others to empire, means no carebares refining drone loot at 100% that yields loads of zydrine + other high ends.
I'd like to point out that apparently CCP thought that there was a flood of zydrine after they added some missions like Attack of the Drones, so then they changed plush compound to not contain zydrine. They didn't want to drastically reduce plush's value or tweak what alloys drones drop so the zydrine's approximate value was replaced with 3200 tritanium and 800 pyerite. This makes plush a good mineral compression commodity with 40.29m3 of minerals per one 1m3 unit of plush.
Plush still contains 9 zydrine, it used to contain 18 I believe, that was when Zydrine hit the low of about 1200/unit. |
